Mass Rape in Congo

angry.. when i read this article on bbc regarding the mass rapes that the army and militants are carrying out..

this lady has her husband leaving her after she was raped because he said she is dirty.. and this is after she had made the sacrifice to be raped instead of her husband being killed.

the researcher says, the husbands can't deal with the fact that they can't protect their wives and they feel like failures, so the only way is to leave them and start over.

another soldier said: "I felt that if I didn't have sex then I would get sick" so what if they are living n the forest and they felt like that when they come out? does it give them the right to force upon the women then?

the soldiers felt it's their right to rape the women, the husbands felt the women have "dirtied" themselves.. who can stand up for these women then???
