Something that our pastor shared in our church email blast.. i need to do these
When things don’t turn out as you would want:
First, place yourself in His hands. His hands are big enough to hold you, embrace you, and give peace to your soul.
Second, let Scripture speak to you. God’s Words and promises will build and strengthen you. Let him give you a rhema word (a personal word) of comfort, of assurance, of love, of forgiveness, and of hope.
Third, let this process develop your soul. One of my favorite hymns is, “It is well with my soul.” The writer saw a ship sink which had on board his wife and children. Through the grief and turmoil, he met God anew. Corrie Ten Boom, who risked her life saving Jews from the Nazis, and thus landed in a Nazi concentration camp, said, “There is no pit so deep, that His love is not deeper still.”
Fourth, don’t focus on what “others may think.” It is important for you to come into the presence of God and hear His words of love and strength and forgiveness.
Fifth, count your blessings. This is a key weapon of spiritual warfare. Name those blessings one by one. It will surprise you what God has done.
Sixth, get adequate rest, eat properly, and exercise to work off the stress. Remember, you are a total person, body, soul and spirit.
Seventh, find someone you can get wise counsel from. We are not meant to bear our burdens alone. Let your Grace group pray with you.
Eighth, declare God’s will shall be done! That is your faith statement. You may not know how, but God will even make the evil that men do to praise him!
